PROJECT ONE: FAMOUS PEOPLE, FAMILIAR FACES DIAGRAMMATIC ABSTRACTION
Project 1 is a group assignment. In a group of 6, we are required to produce 10 analysis diagrams and 1o diagrammatic models of a master architect's work. This project allows us to investigate and to explore how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics.- solid, planes, lines and frames. Upon completion of the project we are able to achieve a level of understanding on the works assigned and will be able to apply the idea and concept to our project later.
The idea of using pure and diagrammatic models to express the architectural idea would also be in cooperated into this assignment.
We were assigned to Tadao Ando's Azuma House.
PROJECT 2A: Introduction to Site Analysis + Observation Deck @ Cape Rachado
This project required us to design an observation deck at a selected site within Cape Rachado, Port Dickson. The whole class was divided into 2 groups, each with 1 given site at Cape Rachado. Sub groups were formed within the big group to conduct site analysis of the given site.
In a group of two, we need to design a multifunction observation deck for the public. My partner and I have selected the rocky beach at Cape Rachado for the placement of our observation deck.
PROJECT 2B: Retreat House @ Cape Rachado, Port Dickson
This project is an individual project. It is also a continuation of project 2A as we are to further develop our obsercation deck in project 2A into a retreat house. This time we are given a specific client and my client is a retired filmmaker. I have created a retreat house for my client according to his status, occupation and needs.
