DESIGN COMMUNICATION
PROJECT 1A: ON-SITE SKETCHING
For Project 1A, we are required to produce 4 free hand sketches. The sketches that we are required to sketch is selected within the campus. This project can develop our skills in visualizing of space through observation and perception of a given site and use sketching as a mode of communication.

PROJECT 1B: TONAL VALUE
For Project 1B, we are given a photo of Kamakura House and required to produce 4 sketches with different techniques. This includes hatching, cross-hatching, stippling and scribbling. We can develop our sketching skills by using various techniques of hatching and skills in communicating the sketches in various tonal and depth values.

PROJECT 2A: ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION
Project 2A is to develop students' skills in 2D drawing. This project is about understanding technical drawings. We are given a building -Farnsworth House to be explored in terms of its scale and dimensions, exterior and interior view to produce 1 plan, 4 elevation and 2 section drawings of Farnsworth House.

PROJECT 2B: AXONOMETRIC PROJECTION
Project 2B is to develop students' skill in 3D drawing. We are required to produce 2 axonometric drawings of Farnsworth House. Axonometric drawing is an excellent method of communicatuing and expressing idea.

PROJECT 2C: PERSPECTIVES
For Project 2C, we are required to prodice 2 perspective drawings of Farnsworth House. 1 exterior perspective drawing (two-point) and 1 sectional interior perspective drawing (one-point). Through this project, we have a better understanding about what perspectives are and ways to generate and ways to apply them in design process and presentation.

PROJECT 3: FINISHING AND PRESENTATION
Design Communication Project 3 is combined with the final project of Architectural Studio 1. In this project, we are required to produce orthograpic drawings and perspective drawings of our own design. The previous projects is very useful to us as the techniques learnt are used in Project 3.
