PROJECT 1: ROOF TRUSS

This project consists of group and individual component. In a group of 5, we are required to select one of the member's studio 3 design to re-design the roof of the selected design by using truss design. We have proposed warren truss, 2-ways space frame and pratt truss as the design of the building. For individual component, we are to analyse different truss system through calculation.​

PROJECT 2: STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF A BUNGALOW

In a group of 3, we are required to design structural framing for a bungalow and prepare structural drawings for the bungalow. This project involves structural theory, force calculation and basic structural proposal which allows understanding the concept of structural analysis. The bungalow should be designed as 2 storey which consists of the following component :

  • 1 master bedroom with attached bathroom

  • Minimum 3 bedrooms

  • 2 bathrooms

  • Kitchen

  • Living hall

  • Dining area

  • 1 store room. 

For individual component, we need to analyse beams and columns. Each of the group members are required to analyse 6 beams and 3 columns which contains different types of loads such as UDL, PL, combination of UDL and PL.
